The Brooks Community School is an innovative educational facility and community asset that operates as an incubator of wellness, education, and success for the south Phoenix community. On site at the Community School are a number of classroom and community spaces as well as a 13,000-sq-ft greenhouse that functions as a collaborative, hands-on learning laboratory.
Arizona Microgreens utilizes the Community School greenhouse facility for the production of organic produce and coordination of related community health, wellness, and sustainability programs.
A portion of Arizona Microgreens' sales revenue goes directly toward supporting the financial sustainability of the Community School. This enables long-term stability for the Community School's efforts to offer ongoing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education through project-based learning to hundreds of families and K-8 children in the Roosevelt School District.
