As an intern with Arizona Microgreens at the George B. Brooks Sr. Community School, you will be actively engaged in hands-on work alongside a diverse group of peers––you will not spend all of your time working alone behind a computer or isolated with monotonous tasks. We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable interns with an interest in urban agriculture, sustainability education, and environmental stewardship. As this is our first year operating at the Brooks Community School, we are particularly interested in working with an entrepreneurial team of intern-collaborators who are looking to make a meaningful contribution to an initiative that is open to their response, critique, ideas, and enthusiasm.
Internships with Arizona Microgreens should encompass a full academic semester or at least 12 weeks. We work with interns in the greenhouse on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday between 8 am and 1 pm. Interns are also welcome to join us at any farmers' market. We take the needs of interns seriously and will do whatever possible to make this internship academically, professionally, and personally meaningful. While we are in a startup phase, it will unfortunately not be feasible for us to provide financial compensation to interns.
